... days 7 & 8

As the week came to an end, it was bittersweet because it was exactly 1 year ago that I had my first real NYFW experience as a volunteer.  It opened up my eyes to a career that I loved and the opportunity that was given to me when I had zero experience.

Now that I'm back at it again in the e-commerce world, it makes me covet my new career that much more.

Days 7 & 8 were days of non-stop beauty and elegance with brands that I love and adore.  Here are snaps of those brands that I love.

"Sharply tailored meets soft and fluid" from Michael Kors

A little bit of this and a little bit of that from Rachel Zoe

Fluorescent and translucent from Clover Canyon

Bright, vibrant and flowy from Anna Sui

... come and gone

Now that the Spring 2014 Fashion Weeks have kicked off across the world, I wanted to take time to recap the first Fashion Week of the Spring 2014 season in New York City.  It came and went by so quickly in a blink of an eye.  Unfortunately this year, I was not able to participate in SS 2014 at NYMBFW, but it didn't stop me from oogling at the many beautiful pieces that graced the runways in NYC.

Here's a recap of some of my favorites that hit the runway at the SS '14 shows in NYC during Days 1-3.

Basic and floral pieces from BCBG Max Azria

Super sweet, feminine, and delicate from Tadashi Shoji

Edgy and sophisticated from Richard Chai

Feminine with a smidge of a masculine touch from Marissa Webb

Delicate and artful from Zimmermann

Vibrant & strong from Rebecca Minkoff

Sweet and feminine with a tomboy twist from Charlotte Ronson

... clogs

Clogs, at first, aren't the most beautiful pair of shoes to me.  But after awhile, they grew on me.  In 2010, I was very obsessed with Jeffrey Campbell's line of clogs.  I bought one pair in black, but then bought a sister look alike pair from Steve Madden.

Now my obsession has now returned 3 years later, but now I'm more into sandal clogs with low heels. Paired with a nice dress, skirt, or shorts, you can make most of these beautiful shoes for the rest of the summer.  Now I'm contemplating on getting a pair myself. ;)

Nina Z NYC - $170

Mia Sweden

Swedish Hasbeens

Sven clogs

... Carol

If there was one shoe that was the "hit of the summer" literally, it would be Isabel Marant's Carol studded sandal.  Everyone from Aimee Song of Song of Style to Leandra Medine of Man Repeller to Tuula Vintage to Sincerely Jules has worn these beloved sandals this summer.

I can't help but be mesmerized by them.  And at a hefty price tag at just over $1000 (which later went on 'sale' to over $500 on Net-A-Porter .. now sold out), I'll admire them from afar.  One can only wish right?

However, if you want to get a similar looking pair at a smaller price tag, there's Jeffrey Campbell x Free People's Maud sandal.  This beaut sells at $198 on Free People's website.
